We Are Ready.

I am the proud mother of two awesome children who have spread their wings and left the home.  My sweet Boykin spaniels provide me with lots of love, attention, and laughter, but I still miss my sweet kids.

I have been a teacher since 1986 when I began teaching math at the high school and university level and while I adore my students and have always found teaching to be a fabulous career, I found myself a bit antsy and desiring to try something different with the next stage of my working life.

As I pondered what I should try, my thoughts went back to the day that my favorite cousin collapsed on the golf course with sudden cardiac arrest.  If my husband had not remembered CPR from his days as a lifeguard, my cousin wouldn’t have lived.  I have seen firsthand the blessing that can come from knowing CPR.  What better way to use my skills as an effective, experienced teacher than to share knowledge that could potentially save lives.  And let’s face it, CPR is more exciting than math (to most people).

Now that my kids have flown the coop, I have time for a few hobbies.  I love to read, train my Boykins, flower and herb garden, follow Clemson and Carolina Panthers football, participate in mini-triathlons and 5K events, and spend time with the many friends I’ve been blessed to have in my life.
